Functional medicine–informed care
Beckett Ridge Family Medicine is a family practice that takes a functional medicine–informed approach to cognitive decline and the conditions that can contribute to it, including Lyme disease, mold exposure, long COVID and heavy metal toxicity. Dr. Chris Diatte, MD, and our care team work alongside conventional care, and we bill your health insurance. Call (513) 860-4600.
Beckett Ridge Family Medicine is an independent family practice in West Chester Township, Ohio. We have provided primary care here since 1995. We are not a functional medicine clinic. We are your family doctors, and for a few complex problems, we use a functional medicine–informed approach.
That means we look for the factors that may be adding to a problem, not just at each symptom on its own. We review your history, medications, sleep, stress, activity, nutrition, exposures and other health conditions, and we look at how they may fit together. This happens alongside conventional medicine, not instead of it, and in the same practice that handles your checkups, sick visits and prescriptions.
Dr. Diatte saw family members struggle with these illnesses when conventional treatment didn't help, and that is why he brought these approaches into the practice. Dr. Diatte is trained in the Bredesen Protocol®, an approach to memory and cognitive health.
Memory loss and brain fog often have more than one cause. Infections, inflammation, toxic exposures, poor sleep, hormone changes and other health conditions can all play a part. The conditions below can each affect how clearly you think, and they often overlap. Looking at them together helps us find factors that are easy to miss when each symptom is treated on its own.

This care is not for emergencies. If you have sudden weakness, confusion, trouble speaking, chest pain or trouble breathing, call 911.
Patients come to us from across Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, and Butler and Warren counties. If you are traveling a distance, tell us when you call and we will help plan your visits.
Your first visit is mostly listening. We want to hear your full story: when your symptoms started, what has changed over time, and what you have already tried. Bring any past test results, imaging reports and records from other doctors, and a list of every medication and supplement you take. If memory is the concern, bring a family member or close friend who can share what they have noticed.
Your provider will do a physical exam and review your medications, sleep, stress, activity, nutrition and possible exposures. Lab work is ordered as needed, based on your symptoms and history. At a follow-up visit, we go over the results together and build a plan you can follow.
We'll be honest with you about what the evidence shows and what it doesn't. Results are different for every person.
Care for these conditions is often offered by cash-only clinics. We are a family practice, so we work with your health insurance the same way we do for any other visit.
How billing works
We bill your health insurance for office visits and lab work, including functional medicine care. Coverage depends on your plan, and some tests, treatments or supplements may not be covered. Call us before your visit and we'll help you check your benefits. You are responsible for any charges your plan doesn't cover.
If you have billing questions after a visit, our billing company can help. Learn more on our insurance and billing page.
We are still your family practice for annual physicals, same-day sick visits, chronic care, children's care and more. See our full list of primary care services.

Step by step
Call (513) 860-4600. Our front desk will help you check your benefits before your visit.
At your first visit, we review your history, symptoms, medications, supplements, exposures and past test results, and do a physical exam.
Your provider orders lab work based on your symptoms and history, not a one-size-fits-all panel.
We go over results with you and create a personalized plan. We work with your other doctors and refer you to specialists when needed.

It means we borrow the most useful part of functional medicine: looking for the factors that may be adding to a problem, such as sleep, medications, infections, exposures and other health conditions. We stay grounded in current medical guidance and work alongside your specialists.
